Join Us for GivingTuesday and Raise Awareness About DRESS Syndrome

Updated: May 7

On Tuesday, November 28, 2023, organizations worldwide will be participating in GivingTuesday. This annual giving event is a global movement "unleashing the power of radical generosity.” The mission is to encourage acts of kindness and do good in the world.

At the DRESS Syndrome Foundation, we’re a small nonprofit that serves a global audience of DRESS Syndrome patients and their loved ones. We also advocate for deeper medical understanding and research about DRESS. We participate in GivingTuesday as a way to promote awareness about DRESS Syndrome, a severe, adverse drug reaction that is under-diagnosed and misunderstood. We also aim to deepen community support for our mission.

How You Can Get Involved

GivingTuesday is about giving, collaborating, and celebrating generosity in ways that inspire you.

If you’d like to support our mission, then you have various ways to get involved:

1. Support our donation goal

To meet our mission, we rely entirely on donations. This GivingTuesday, we have a goal to raise $15,000. Will you help us get there?

Every donation matters — and no amounts are too small! Here’s how your donation will make a difference in the lives of DRESS Syndrome patients and our Foundation:

  • Connect patients to DRESS–aware doctors and other medical experts

  • Advocate on patients’ behalf when talking with medical teams

  • Provide essential information to help patients and their medical teams better understand DRESS and its severity

  • Connect patients with similar experiences for emotional support and community

  • Support organizing the next global conference that brings together leading DRESS Syndrome medical experts and researchers to move the field forward

  • Support medical research that helps us better understand DRESS and patient care

2. Share you DRESS Syndrome story

One in 1,000 people who take prescription drugs will develop DRESS — yet worldwide, this condition is vastly unknown. By sharing your DRESS Syndrome story, you help others know about the risk of developing DRESS. You also help connect to other patients who may feel alone in their DRESS event.

Loop us into the conversation and use #DRESSaware with your posts!

3. Host a Fundraiser for our Foundation

Facebook

If you’re on Facebook, you can create a fundraiser for the DRESS Syndrome Foundation — and set any giving goal you want. Every fundraiser makes a difference in our ability to help DRESS patients. Here’s a guide on how to set up a Facebook Fundraiser.

Donorbox

If you’re not on Facebook or want to use another option, you can also create a fundraiser through the Donorbox platform. Once on the page, click the top-right button, “I want to fundraise for this.”

4. Use our DRESS Syndrome Awareness ribbon

We collaborated with our DRESS Syndrome patient community to create the first DRESS Syndrome Awareness ribbon. You can further promote awareness about DRESS by downloading and using our ribbon.

We envision a world where no one experiences severe, adverse drug reactions. Your financial support of our mission helps us get closer to making that vision a reality. Thank you!
